Most taps in one’s house are general water taps, not that kind
of tap we’re talking
about here. The tap we refer to here is tap which supplies just
drinking water. In lots of buildings including houses not all
taps are supplied by mains drinking water, sometimes the water
is stored in a tank first. In public places its best not to
drink from water taps unless they are clearly labelled as fit
for drinking.

The one water tap which seems not to be given sufficient
consideration is the drinking
tap.
When a house or new building get’s built, it seems that
obtaining drinking water from taps is not as important as the
ability to wash or clean dishes . Those taps used for drinking
rarely have a filter fitted. A dedicated drinking water tap,
which supplies filtered water for drinking from can be installed
if required or filter kits fitted to existing taps.

Water from the mains tap in most places is fairly fresh, that is
its not been stored in any way that would affect its quality .
It is a bad idea to just drink from
a tap unless you know it is mains fed as the water could be not
fit to drink . If you are outside the United Kingdom then seek
advise as to whether local water is safe to drink especially in
more exotic locations. Adding a filter system with a dedicated
watertap is a great way to get low cost fresh clean drinking
water.

A water tap for the kids to drink from in a school is a great
idea. Kids are normally quite active and need to keep their
bodies topped up with water ideally
little
and often. To supply water for them to drink is normal, but to
get dedicated water taps around the school will encourage them
to drink as much as they actually need. In addition they will
needs easy access to cups, beakers, glasses or a dedicated water
bottle. With the odd exception its best to give unrestricted
access to drinking water which will foster healthy habits.
